Claude Parker Chapman, 88, of Proctorville, Ohio passed away Saturday April 16, 2016 at St. Mary’s Medical Center, Huntington, WV. He was born January 3, 1928 in Bidwell, Ohio to the late Clara Chapman Russell and Grover Chapman. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters Hope King and Erie Hardy; and one brother Lloyd Chapman. He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Naomi Jean Chapman; son Steve Chapman; and daughter Teresa “Terry” Chapman. He was a graduate of Barboursville High School and Marshall University with a Bachelor of Science degree and a Masters degree. He was a U.S. Army veteran and a 32nd degree Scottish Rite Mason. He was a member of the Huntington VFW Post #1064 and the DAV. He was a retired school teacher from Cabell County Board of Education, where he taught at Milton High School for 29 years. A graveside service will be conducted 2 p.m. Tuesday April 19, 2016 at White Chapel Memorial Gardens, Barboursville, WV with burial to follow. There will be no visitation.
