Harry “Pete” Hayes, 80, of Proctorville, Ohio passed away Wednesday April 20, 2016 at home. He was born January 7, 1936 in Huntington, WV to the late Earl and Gertrude Hayes. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers Garrett and Tud Hayes. He is survived by his wife Rachel Baugh Hayes; two children, Chris (Teresa) Hayes and Holli (Michael) Martin; five grandchildren C.J. Hayes, and Levi, Titus, Zoe, and Cyrus Martin; one sister Reba Crawford of Michigan; three brothers James “Skip” (Marcella) Hayes, Jerry (Carol) Hayes, and Den (Mary Ann) Hayes all of Proctorville; and a host of nieces and nephews. Pete was a 54 year member of Proctorville Masonic Lodge #550 F&AM and 53 year member of Proctorville Teresa Chapter #257 O.E.S. He retired from Ohio River Company and he was a 32nd degree KCCH Scottish Rite Mason of the Valley of Huntington. Funeral service and O.E.S. service will be conducted 2 p.m. Sunday April 24, 2016 at Hall Funeral Home and Crematory, Proctorville, Ohio. Burial will follow in Rome Cemetery, Proctorville, Ohio. Visitation will be held 6 to 9 p.m. Saturday April 23, 2016 at the funeral home with a Masonic service to be held at 7:30 p.m. Condolences may be expressed to the family at www.timeformemory.com/hall.

Rachel, I'm so sorry, you and the kids are in my thoughts and prayers. Pete was a wonderful man and so friendly and kind! He will be missed. He always had a smile on his face and a warm welcome when you saw him!
