Billie Joe BlackBillie Joe Black, 71, of Milton, went home to be with the Lord Friday, April 29, 2016. Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 am Tuesday, May 3, 2016 at Chestnut Grove Missionary Baptist Church by Rev. Mark Hesson and Rev. Chelcie Gibson. Burial will be in Forest Memorial Park. He was born October 30, 1944 in Milton, a son of the late Elijah Lesley and Stella Marie Cooper Black. He was a retired bus driver for the Cabell County Board of Education and a member of Chestnut Grove Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his brothers and sisters, James, Opal, Helen, Dorsey and Paul. Billie is survived by his loving wife of 49 years, Dorothy Deweese Black; two sons and daughters-in-law, Billy Joe and Greta Black of Lesage, and Jack Lee and Rachel Black of Milton; three sisters and brothers-in-law, Okal Clagg of Milton, Wanda and Harvey Foster of Milton and Barbara and Larry Carey of Lesage; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Jack and Jenny Black of Barboursville, and David and Patty Black of Milton; three grandchildren, Colby, Corey Lee (Lacey), and Haley Marie; and one great-granddaughter, Callie, and a host of nieces and nephews. Visitation will be from 6-9 pm Monday at the Wallace Funeral Home, Milton, and after 10:00 am Tuesday at the church. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Huntington, Box 464, Huntington, WV 25709. Online condolences may be expressed to the family at www.timeformemory.com/wallace.

So sadden to hear Billy passed I went to school and Church with Billy ,very nice guy our kids liked him as their bus driver also !! Praying for the family May God give you Grace and Strength xoxo

our hearts are broken..but I know he is in heaven shouting with my mawmaw and pain free...he was a not only my uncle that I loved dearly but he was a great man of faith...I have a lot of great memories going with him and my mawmaw to church and I can still see him standing in the choir singing..now hes singing in that heavenly choir...until we meet again love you uncle bill....
