1932 - 2016

Stanley Martin DiehlStanley Martin Diehl, 83, of Barboursville, WV, formerly of Chesapeake, Ohio, went to be with the Lord, Saturday, April 30, 2016, at the Emogene Dolin Jones Hospice House. Son of the late Edward H. and Evangeline Martin Diehl, Stan was born October 3, 1932. He was also preceded in death by a brother, Edward H. Diehl II. Stan is survived by his devoted wife of 55 years, Edna Miller Diehl, and longtime friends and neighbors, Rick and Kathie Gue, Jason, Alex, Samuel, Beckett and families. A patriot for sure, Stan attended Greenbrier Military School, Lewisburg, WV, and graduated from Lakeland High School, Lakeland, Florida. A veteran of the Korean War, the discipline, bravery and patriotism he learned from the US Army never left him, as family and friends will attest. Following retirement from the US Corps of Engineers, Huntington, WV, Stan spent countless hours volunteering for his community and was involved in numerous service organizations. He was a faithful and active member of the Chesapeake United Methodist Church. A celebration of Stan’s life will be held at 12 noon, Tuesday, May 3rd, at Hall Funeral Home, Proctorville, Ohio, with Pastor Charles “Chuck” Case officiating. Visitation at 11 a.m. Interment will follow at Woodmere Memorial Park, Huntington, WV. Military rites will be conducted by Huntington Honor Guard, American Legion, Post 16. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Chesapeake United Methodist Church or The Gideons International, PO Box 687, Proctorville, Ohio 45669. We are indeed grateful for the wonderful staff at Wyngate Assisted Living as well as the excellent care Stan received at the Emogene Dolin Jones Hospice House. Condolences may be expressed to the family at www.timeformemory.com/hall.

I am so sorry for your loss. Jehovah is close to the brokenhearted; He saves those who are crushed in spirit. . Psalms 34:18 May the peace that comes from the memories of love shared, comfort you now. Pleas accept my sincere condolences.
