Philip Andrew RoyPhilip Andrew Roy, 73, of Barboursville, WV, passed away peacefully in his home Tuesday, May 17, 2016. Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 am Thursday, May 19, 2016 at the Wallace Funeral Home & Chapel, with Minister Danny Evans officiating. Entombment will be in the Woodmere Memorial Park Abby of Remembrance Mausoleum. He was born June 24, 1942 in Huntington, WV, a son of the late Callie L. and Mabel Bradberry Roy. He was also preceded in death by two sisters, Jo Ellen Arbaugh and Bonnie Bowen. Philip graduated from Barboursville High School and was a veteran of the US Army. He retired from BASF in Huntington, and was a member of Farmdale Church of Christ. He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Brigitte Taiber Roy; one son, P.C. Roy and his wife Mary Beth of Ona; one daughter and her husband, Andrea Roy and Kevin Nieto of Huntington; two grandchildren, Hannah and Hunter Roy; one brother, Dorsey Roy of Ashland, KY; one sister and her husband, Sue and Mike Eckhart of Proctorville, OH, and several nieces and nephews. The family is grateful to friends and acquaintances throughout the community; at every turn there were people offering prayer and support. Special thanks to the nurses and staff in Dr. Bir’s office at HIMG and to Jo and Karen of Hospice of Huntington. The family requests that memorial donations be made in Philip’s honor to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. Visitation will be from 5-7 pm Wednesday at the Wallace Funeral Home, Barboursville. So sorry for your loss he will always be in your hearts but now he will walk with Jesus and be cancer free. Philip was a good man I have good memories of him as I grew up at Church.
