Janice Rose Stanley, 81, of Gallipolis, Ohio, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Monday June 13, 2016 at St. Mary’s Medical Center, Huntington, WV. She was born November 9, 1934 to the late Glenville and Melva Pinkerman Halley. As a young girl she attended Siloam Church on Rocky Fork Road. She attended Mercerville School. At the age of 16 she married Verlin Swain and moved to Crown City where she raised four sons Rick (Carla) Swain of Rio Grande, Jim (Pam) Swain of Crown City, Scott (Barbara) Swain of Gallipolis and the late Keith Swain. She attended The Crown City Community Church for years where she had lifelong friendships. She attended Christ United Methodist Church of Rt 7 South of Clipper Mill, when she was able. She was a 50 year member of Gallipolis Eastern Star. Janice loved to watch sports of any kind and was an avid fan of Hannan Trace while her sons attended and for years after. She was a great huntress in her day claiming several Bucks and Turkeys from the woods on her farm. She will be missed by all who knew her. In addition to her son, she was preceded in death by her second husband Paul B. Stanley; one brother and sister-in-law Carl Eugene Halley and Gay Halley; and uncle and aunt Billy and Edna Halley. In addition to her three children; she is survived by her grandchildren, Rick (Sonya) Swain of Waverly, Matt (Becky) Swain of Florida, Heather (Nick) Robinson of Columbus, John Scott Swain of Gallipolis, Brian (Jenni) Swain of Crown City, Karrie (Josh) Davison of Mercerville, Misty Swain of Milton, and Wendy (Michael) Borstein of Proctorville; several great grandchildren; nephews Randy (Debbie) Halley, Kevin (Rhonda) Halley, and Terry (Rochelle) Halley of Mercerville; several great nieces and nephews; and special cousins that were very close to Janice in her life, Linda Fulks of Crown City, Jeff and Wendy Halley of Mercerville, and Wanda Staton of Florida. Funeral service will be conducted 11 a.m. Friday June 17, 2016 at Hall Funeral Home and Crematory, Proctorville, Ohio. Burial will follow in Crown City Cemetery, Crown City, Ohio. Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday June 16, 2016 at the funeral home. Condolences may be expressed to the family at www.timeformemory.com/hall.

My heart goes out to all the family for the sudden loss of Janice .She was a wonderful person , hard worker friend ,& always ready to help if needed .
