Amelia June Erdy, 92, of Huntington, WV passed away Wednesday, June 22, 2016 at Heartland of Riverview, South Point, Ohio. She was born July 2, 1923 in Jacksonville, Ohio daughter of the late John and Melvena Gillette Sauser. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband of 54 years Michael Erdy they lived their life together in Jacksonville, Ohio; a sister Inez Campbell; grandson Michael Erdy; and son-in-law Lew Barrett. She is survived by three children John Erdy, Melvena “Sis” Barrett and George (Nicole) Erdy; one sister Fritzi Higgins; one brother George (Mary) Edinger; eight grandchildren Missy (Mark) Hardin, Stephanie Loucks, Joanna, Travis and Kevin Erdy, Bill (Tina) Barrett, Tre and Destiny Payne; eight great grandchildren Matthew, Michael, Morgan, Madison, Connor, London, Olivia and Leigha. She worked as a Nurse’s Aide for over 30 years at Mt. St. Mary’s Hospital in Nelsonville, Ohio. She loved animals especially her dog Peanut that she left behind. She spent the last four years of her life in Heartland of Riverview where her friends called her “June Bug”. The family extends a special thank you to the staff especially Bernie, Helen, Ruth and James and also to the many aides for their tender care and giving her the sucker treats as well as her many friends she made while living there. Private inurnment will take place at a later date at Maplewood Cemetery, Glouster, Ohio. Hall Funeral Home and Crematory, Proctorville, Ohio is assisting the family with arrangements. Sis, We so enjoyed our time knowing you & your firecracker Mommy :) while visiting Oleta at Heartland. Even though you suffer your own health problems you remained a faithful servant to your Mommy. Your love for her was so precious and obvious. Thank you for all the times you did Oleta's nails. We will always remember you, June Bug & Peanut. Praying for you & your family.
