Lawrence Hammond, 84, of Wayne, passed away Friday, July 8, 2016. He was born March 29, 1932, in Cabell County, a son of the late Leonard and Rozella Brinegar Hammond. He is also preceded in death by his wife Clara Davidson Hammond; four sisters, Gracie Adkins, Deanna Adkins, Millie Hammond and Sharon Lynn Hammond and three brothers, Leo, Steve and Paris Hammond. He is survived by three daughters, Rozella (Aaron) Brooks, Jean Jenkins and Kemberly (Melvin) Brewer; four sons, Lawrence (Becky) Hammond Jr., Leonard (Jeri) Hammond, Mark (Jeannie) Hammond and Matt (Kori Studer) Hammond; five sisters, Roslee Adkins, Verna Johnson, Thelma Eaves, Spicie Ferrell and Pam Dillman; one brother, Braxton Hammond and 17 grandchildren and twelve great grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted 1 p.m. Monday at Wallace Funeral Home & Chapel, Barboursville, by Rev. Heron Adkins. Burial will be in Hammond Cemetery.
