Funeral services for Dale Ross Phelps, 85, of Buna, will be 11:00 am Friday, July 15, 2016 at Farmer Funeral Home with interment following in Black Family Cemetery in Browndell. Visitation will be from 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm Thursday at the funeral home.
Mr. Phelps died July 10, 2016 at his residence.
A native of Amelia, Dale was a long time resident of Buna. He worked as a truck driver before retiring and proudly served his country in the US Navy during the Korean War.
Mr. Phelps is preceded in death by his parents Virgil Roy and Mildred L Silcox Phelps; wife Beverly Phelps; sons James Cecil Phelps Sr.; brother Gerald Roland Phelps; sister Cecile Marie Morse, and great grandson Brendin Carl Warner.
Survivors include son Ronnie Phelps of Buna; daughter Jackie Phelps of Buna and Mary Lee Palmer and husband Terry of Silsbee; daughter-in-law Doris Phelps of Silsbee; brother David Phelps of Winnie; eleven grandchildren and fourteen great grandchildren.
Mr. Phelps will be missed by his loving family and many friends.
