Beulah Kazee Click for Condolences      Printable Version
Not Listed - 2016

Heaven shouted glory as the gates of pearl opened to receive Mrs. Beulah Bowling Kazee, following her 99 year journey. Beulah entered the gates rejoicing to meet her Heavenly Father on Sunday, July 10, 2016, at 11:30 PM. She was born to Willie C. and Zora Ward Bowling January 15, 1917, in Blaine. Beulah was the oldest of nine children and seemed more like a mother to some than she did a sister as she helped care for the other eight children her parents were blessed with. Beulah first met the love of her life, Byron L. Kazee, when she was just 12 years old, and then again when she was 18. They were married Dec. 7, 1937. Later Beulah and Byron were blessed with two wonderful children, Mrs. Barbara Ann Kazee Gifford of Cannonsburg and the late Gareld "Slim" Kazee, who entered Heaven Jan. 19, 2016. Beulah and Byron spent many happy years with their children and grandsons until Byron left this old world for Heaven Oct. 6, 1998. Left admiring her journey is her son-in-law, Roy Gifford of Cannonsburg; Barbara Ann and Roy lovingly cared for Beulah after the death of her dear husband until the time of her earthly death. Also mourning the death of their "Boo Boo" are two grandsons, Scott Gifford and wife Kenna of Van Buren, Ohio and Lee Kazee and wife Melissa of Lebanon, Tenn.; two great-grandsons, Jared Gifford and Ryan Gifford of Van Buren, Ohio; two great-granddaughters, Gabriella and Camille Kazee of Massachusetts; and grandchildren Landon, Caleb and Madison of Lebanon, Tenn.; two sisters, Mrs. Gertalene McDowell of Ashland and Mrs. Gladys Brown, of Columbus, Ohio; several nephews and nieces; numerous great-nephews and great-nieces; and great-great nephews and great-great nieces. Beulah was preceded in death by four brothers, Jesse, Jeddy, Holly and Paul Bowling; two sisters, Edna Bowling Sexton and Perlina Bowling Clarkston; three nephews; and two nieces. A Celebration of Life will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, July 16, 2016, at Steen Funeral Home-13th Street Chapel in Ashland with her nephew, The Rev. Danny Clarkston officiating. Entombment will be in Rose Hill Burial Park Mausoleum in Ashland. Visitation will be after 10 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
