Lonnie B. Adkins, 80, of Proctorville, Ohio passed away Friday July 15, 2016 at River’s Bend Health Care, South Point, Ohio. He was born September 5, 1935 in Midkiff, WV to the late Bernie B. and Isabell Yeager Adkins. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one son Sgt. Timothy Adkins, Sr., and ten siblings, Chester, Mildred, Mabel, Herman, Phillip, Mauna, Myrtle, Myrl, Nathan, and Bobby. He was retired from the US Army. Lonnie was a member of Proctorville VFW Post #6878 and the DAV. He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Alice Victoria Adkins; one son Alvin E. Adkins of Monroe, GA; one daughter Debra (Todd) DeFoe of Huntington, WV; three grandchildren T.J. (Casey) Adkins, Sarah (Travis) McComas, and Kyle (Jennifer) Adkins; six great grandchildren, Anna, Rachel, Grant, Ben, Jeffery, and Faith; one brother Billie (Eula); three sisters Naomi (C.E.), Maxine (Ray), and Wilma (John); and numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral service will be conducted 11 A.M. Tuesday July 19, 2016 at Hall Funeral Home and Crematory, Proctorville, Ohio by Pastor Jerry Galloway. Burial will follow in Rome Cemetery, Proctorville, Ohio. Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday July 18, 2016 at the funeral home. Proctorville VFW Post #6878 will conduct military graveside rites. Condolences may be expressed to the family at www.timeformemory.com/hall.
