Alvin Eugene MorganA graveside service for Alvin Eugene Morgan, 85, of Silsbee will be 10:00 am Saturday, July 23, 2016 at Garden of Memories in Lufkin under the direction of Farmer Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm Friday at the funeral home.

Mr. Morgan died July 18, 2016 at his residence in Silsbee.

A native of Diboll, Alvin was a resident of Silsbee for 61 years. He had a Masters Degree from LSU, was a member of Pinecrest Baptist Church and an insurance and real estate salesman. Mr. Morgan proudly served his country in the US Air Force during the Korean War.

He is preceded in death by his parents, William Ernest and Myrtie Irene Johnson Morgan.

Survivors include his wife Mozell Hammons Morgan of Silsbee; sons Larry Gene Morgan of Silsbee, David Lee Morgan and wife Tracie of Silsbee and Stephen Ray Morgan and wife Cheryl of Pearland; daughter Gloria Morgan Beason and husband Warren of Tulsa, OK; grandchildren Kayla Biemer and husband Chris, Christopher Morgan, Amy Marshall and husband Daniel, Tyler Morgan, Trent Morgan, Alana Beason. Roxanne Beason and Christopher Morgan and great grandchild Dylan Swartz.

Mr. Morgan will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.

I have always loved Uncle Alvin. I will miss his super loving embrace the uncanny why he made everyone feel like the most important person in the room.

So sorry for your lost. Uncle Alvin was a great man who was a very kind and sweet man who will be missed greatly. He was a hero in the Air Force. And a hero to us as well. He would help anybody who need it as well as his family. He was always there if you needed him. we will miss you Uncle Alvin. We love you with all our hearts.

While I did not know him well. I do know his children. By his children he has shown that did an outstanding job of raising them. I am pleased to have known two as classmates.
