Funeral services for Gerald Joseph Kalanta, 73, of Kountze will be 10:00 am Monday, August 8, 2016 at St. Mark’s Catholic Church in Silsbee with interment following in R S Farmer Memorial Cemetery. Visitation will be 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm Sunday with a Rosary beginning at 6:00 pm at Farmer Funeral Home.
Mr. Kalanta passed away August 2, 2016 at his residence.
Gerald worked in construction as a pipefitter and proudly served his country in the US Army during the Vietnam War. He was a longtime resident of this area and was a loving husband, father and grandfather.
Mr. Kalanta is preceded in death by his parents, Anthony and Zelma Wilson Kalanta and brother Richard Kalanta.
Survivors include his wife Robin Svehla Kalanta of Kountze; sons Joseph Kalanta of Kountze, Nicholas Kalanta of Academy TX and Matthew Kalanta of Port Neches; daughters Natalie Kalanta of Kountze and Michelle Kalanta of Houston; sister Nancy Thompson of Buna and three grandchildren.
Mr. Kalanta will be missed by his family and many friends.
