I was shocked to hear about Jeff's passing. My thoughts and prayers to his family. I have known Jeff for a long time. We went to school together and I have been friends with his family for a long time. As we got older we didn't stay in touch much. He was always a great and kind person to be around. May he rest in peace until we meet again on those golden shores. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and grew up with him.

I would see Jeff most days at St. Marys and I talked to him a lot when he was at Healthsouth. He was always so nice to me and always helpful. Jeff was a good man and I always felt better after talking to him.

I would first like to say how truly sorry I am for your loss. I used to work at St. Mary's as a nurse and met Jeff when I was fresh out of school at my first job on the floor. He was always so sweet and comforting when I was feeling nervous. He helped me any time I needed it, even when he was busy. After taking a different job on another floor, I wasn't able to see him everyday I worked like I had before, but that didn't stop him from keeping in contact. He made sure to come visit me and make sure he knew when I worked next. Every single conversation brightened my day. Every single hug and every single smile was so special. I hope he knew how special he was to not only me, but the entire St. Mary's family. I will always and forever cherish the wonderful memories and his kind heart. My prayers and thoughts are with his whole family. A true loss. God Bless 3

Jeffrey Douglas Hamrick, 62, of Huntington, passed away Tuesday, August 16, 2016. He was born July 10, 1954 in Valley Head, West Virginia, a son of the late Melvin and Joan Iseli Hamrick. He is survived by three daughters, Madison Hamrick, Natalie Hamrick (Bobby Lemley Jr.) and Rebecca Frisbie; three sons, Nickolas Hamrick, Jeffrey Hamrick II (Melissa) and Joshua Hamrick; three brothers, Bradley Hamrick (Brenda), Phillip Hamrick and Tim Hamrick (Donna) and five grandchildren, Ethan and Elijah Frisbie, Rachel and Riley Hamrick and Sophia Lemley. Wallace Funeral Home & Chapel, Barboursville is assisting the family with cremation. At Jeffrey’s request there will be no visitation or services.
