William Lewis WiessFuneral services for William Lewis Wiess, 87, of Silsbee, will be 2:00 pm Saturday, August 20, 2016 at First Baptist Church of Silsbee with interment following in R S Farmer Memorial Cemetery. Services are under the direction of Farmer Funeral Home. Visitation will be 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm Friday at the funeral home.

Mr. Wiess passed away August 16, 2016 at Silsbee Convalescent Nursing Home.

William was a native of Beaumont and had lived in Silsbee 70 years. He worked as a welder, instrument foreman and refinery worker, retiring from Mobil Oil Co. after 40 years of service. Mr. Wiess was a longtime member of First Baptist Church of Silsbee and proudly served his country in the US Marine Corp during the Korean War.

Mr. Wiess is preceded in death by his parents, Willie S and Leona Lewis Wiess and sister Martha J Henderson.

He is survived by his loving wife of 65 years, Mildred Wiess of Silsbee; daughter Lisa Sanchez of Silsbee; grandchildren Ryan Sanchez and Reid Sanchez, both of Silsbee; nephew Donnie Walton of Lumberton and nieces Carolyn Bonds and Diane Gresham of Lumberton.

Mr. Wiess will be dearly missed by all his loving family and many friends.

It was a pleasure knowing Bill Wiess and his wife, Mildred. There are some very strong honorable genes in that blood stream. Now, to be carried on by daughter, Lisa and her boys - may God lead and protect you.
