Leafy Charlene Elkins Click for Condolences      Printable Version 1943 - 2016 Leafy Charlene Elkins, 73, of Huntington, passed away August 26, 2016. Graveside services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, August 28, 2016 at Enon Cemetery. She was born August 15, 1943 in Ona, a daughter of the late Lawson and Frances Keenan Elkins. She was also preceded in death by three brothers, Benjamin, Clovis and Gary Elkins and one sister, Linda Elkins. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Kim and John Sang of Huntington; sisters, Lila Bledsoe, Sharon Sifrit and Shirley Wagner; brothers, Clark Elkins, Albert Elkins and Harry Elkins; and three grandchildren, Stephanie (Chris) Bias, Sara Sang and Jennifer Sang. Leafy’s family would like to thank the Homestead Unit at Heritage Center, Huntington for taking excellent care of her during her stay. There will be no visitation. Wallace Funeral Home, Barboursville, is in charge of arrangements. Online condolences may be expressed to the family at www.timeformemory.com/wallace.

I worked with Leafy for several years at Averts Nursing Home. I had just got out of nursing school,had not even taken my boards yet. Leafy took me under her wing and really helped me. The only nurse there that helped me. She was a nice kind lady. I feel lucky to have met her. I am very sorry for your loss and will keep you and your family in my prayers.

Sorry to hear about Leafy!! I will pray for you all! I remember when Kim was born and Mom brought us down to your Mom's house to see her!! She was so tiny and pink!

Kim, So sorry to hear of Leafy's passing. She put up with me a lot of times back in the day and always made me feel welcome at your house. I will always remember her. If you need anything just message me on FB. Love ya, Dawn
