Carl Ottis Prough, 69, of Huntington, WV, passed away August 28, 2016, at the VA Medical Center. He was born May 30, 1947, in Welch, WV, a son of the late Carl Prough and Mary Simpson Prough. He was a veteran of the United States Army, a POW, and a Purple Heart Recipient of the Vietnam War. He is survived by his wife Barbara Webb Prough; three step daughters, Opal (Rodney) Sanders, Cheryl (Jim) Smith, and Teresa Ellis (Eddie Hammond), two stepsons Charles Boling and Mark (Shannon) Boling; several step grandchildren and step great grandchildren; cousins and church family. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Wallace Funeral Home, Barboursville and after noon Wednesday at the church. Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Wednesday, August 31, 2016, at First Freewill Baptist Church, Altizer by Rev. Fred Ramey. Burial will be in Ridgelawn Memorial Park, Huntington.
