Ruth Virginia King, 93, of Ashland, passed away Saturday, Aug. 27, 2016, in Boyd Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.
She was born Jan. 4, 1923, in Louisville, to the late Leonard M. and Laura Westwood Burchfield. She was also preceded in death by her loving husband, Emmett S. King in 1966; and two brothers, Leonard W. Burchfield and Robert L. Burchfield.
Ruth was a member of the Easter Star Mistletoe Chapter where she had served as Worthy Matron, upon their closing, she transferred her membership to the Westwood Chapter 569. She was a member of Order of the Amaranth and worked at Wool-Co and Big Lots.
She is survived by a son, Stephen E. King and wife, Linda, of Virginia.
Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 1, 2016, at Hebron Cemetery in Shepherdsville.
Friends may call from 5 to 7 p.m. with an Eastern Star service at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Aug.31, 2016, at Steen Funeral Home-Central Avenue Chapel in Ashland.
