Jack Glen Bowling, 77, of Catlettsburg, passed away Tuesday morning, Sept. 6, 2016, at his residence.
He was born Feb. 15, 1939, in Boyd County, to the late Clyde Eugene and Midge Blankenship Bowling. He was also preceded in death by brothers, Clyde O. Bowling, Carl N. Bowling and Hager Bowling; and sisters, Alma Ramey, Betty Opell, Wilma Hampton and Opal Green.
Jack was a 1956 graduate of Boyd County High School. He was a member of Greenhill Masonic Lodge 521 for more than 50 years, he served in the National Guard and retired from AK Steel as a supervisor.
Those left to cherish his memory include his loving wife of 58 years, Susie Harris Bowling of Catlettsburg; brothers Elmer Bowling (Polly) of Rush and Darrell Bowling (Mary) of Catlettsburg; sisters, Ruby Hensley of Catlettsburg, Garnet Stapleton (Bill) of Ashland and Jean Adkins of Jackson, Tenn.; and a caregiver, BreAnna Williams of Ashland.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Friday, Sept. 9, 2016, at Steen Funeral Home-Central Avenue Chapel in Ashland with Pastor Richard Gindlesperger officiating. Burial will be in Golden Oaks Memorial Gardens in Ashland.
Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. with a Masonic service at 7 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 8, 2016, at the funeral home.
