Shelbia Jean KimballShelbia Jean “Sissy” Kimball, 79, of Chesapeake, Ohio passed away Saturday, September 10, 2016 at home. Sissy was born September 7, 1937. She was preceded in death by her parents, Elmer and Garnet (Sites) Adkins, as well as two brothers Julian and Jack Adkins. She was a member of Rockwood Missionary Baptist Church, but considered Union Missionary Baptist Church a second church home. She worked for Chesapeake Schools for 28 years, most of which was spent as the Middle School secretary. Her biggest enjoyment in life was spending time with her friends and family, especially her granddaughters. She is survived by her husband Ralph W. Kimball and two children Angela (John) Hayes and Terry (Robin) Kimball and four granddaughters that were her pride and joy, Abbey and Anna Kimball and Chloe and Ella Hayes. She has a special niece, Jacki Adkins and two special great nieces, Brittany Brunty and Courtney Petry. She will be missed by many, especially some close friends that were by her side daily, Jodi Hutchison, Marlene Pannell and Shirley Henson. She had four special caregivers, Joan Barker, Joyce Pike, Linda Henderson and Judy Spaulding. A special thank-you goes to all the staff at the Edwards Comprehensive Cancer Center at Cabell Huntington Hospital and to Hospice of Huntington. Friends may call at Hall Funeral Home and Crematory in Proctorville, Ohio on Monday September 12, 2016 from 6 to 8 p.m. Funeral will be conducted at Hall Funeral Home on Tuesday September 13, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Jerry Matt presiding. Burial will follow in Highland Memorial Gardens in South Point. In lieu of flowers, a scholarship fund has been set-up through the Academic Boosters at Chesapeake High School to be awarded at the 2017 Academic Program. Checks may be made payable to the CHS Academic Boosters and mailed to Chesapeake High School, 10181 County Road One, Chesapeake, Ohio 45619. Please note in memo that it is for the Shelbia J. So sorry to hear about your loss. It was a very kind and caring person. Honestly without this wonderful person I doubt I would have made it through 5th grade, let alone middle school. Even though we fell out of touch when I hit high school, she will be dearly missed.
