1947 - 2016
David Lee Black, 69, of Huntington, passed away Tuesday September 13, 2016. He was born August 6, 1947 in Mason County, a son of the late William A. and Hazel Virginia Wray Black. He was also preceded in death by his mother-in-law, Emogene Morrison. He was a veteran of the US Army and served in the Viet Nam War. He was retired from Steel of WV with forty four years of service. He was a member of Olive Baptist Church, where he sang in the choir and served as a deacon. He is survived by his wife, Elizabeth Ann “Libby” Morrison Black; one daughter, Deborah Diane Casey and Dennis; one son, Jason David Black and Mandy; three grandchildren, Alexis A. Black, Jayci A. Black and Levi D. Black; two sisters, Anna Belle Glenn and Mary Lou Spurlock and Dwayne; two brothers, William A. Black and Mildred and Randy L. Black and Lee Ann; and his father-in-law, Millard Morrison. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Olive Baptist Church and after 1 p.m. Friday at the church. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday, September 16, 2016, at Olive Baptist Church by Pastor Gordon Rutherford. Burial will be in Milton Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Huntington, P.O. Box 464, Huntington, WV, 25701 or Gideon’s International, P.O. Box 21, Ona, WV 25545. Libby, I was so sorry to see the news about your husband. I know no words can express how you feel at this time. So glad he was a Christian which is some comfort now. Praying for you and your children.
