George Perez Torres, 67, of Huntington, WV, went home to be with his Lord on Thursday, September 22, 2016. Funeral services will be conducted at 12:00 pm Wednesday, September 28, 2016 at the Wallace Funeral Home & Chapel with Pastor Donald McCloud officiating. Burial will be in the Donel C. Kinnard Memorial State Veterans Cemetery, Dunbar, WV. He was born December 22, 1948 in Oaxaca, Mexico, a son of the late Raymond and Antonia Perez Torres. He was a veteran of the Viet Nam war having served in the US Army for twenty-six years. He was a member and former associate pastor of River Cities Lighthouse Church. He is survived by his wife, Barbara Ann Varney Torres; one son, George Torres Jr. of Texas; three stepsons, Ellis Gundy Jr. of Springhill, FL, Michael Ray Gundy, and Mark Edward Gundy, both of Huntington, WV; three sisters, Gloria Antu and Virginia Taylor, both of San Antonio, TX, and Lala Gonnerman of El Paso, TX; one brother, Raul Torres of Austin, TX, and a very special friend, Bill Adkins. To my little brother George.
I'm so sorry that we did not spend much time together over the years. I am so grateful that I was able to spend some time with you earlier this year. It was such a short visit but I will never forget that precious time. One day we will have more time to remember all the good and badtimes.
