Jack Julian StoneJack Julian Stone, 84, of Huntington, WV gained his wings, Monday October 3rd,2016 at St. Mary's hospital following a long term illness. He Leaves behind his wife of 59 years Lois Jean Stone: his daughter Sharon Layne, his son-in law Lewis Layne; his granddaughter Sarah Moreland; a grandson in law Derek Moreland; a great granddaughter Annalee Moreland; two sisters Rosie Estep and Martha Thacker; he also leaves behind two brothers Charlie Stone and Karl Stone and many close friends. He was born in Logan WV, he was the son of Bernie and Eula Stone, and was a lifelong resident of Huntington WV. In his early years Jack helped with a paper route. After graduating from Huntington East High School he enrolled in the navy and fought in the Korean War. After the navy he went to work at Armstrong products with a friend who introduced him to his wife Lois Jean Stone. They were married September 21st, 1957. Jack had a passion for the navy, and church. He served in the bus ministry for several years. If you knew Jack you knew he loved his family. His family came before anything. He was preceded in death by his parents Bernie D Stone and Eula Stone, along with his brother Bernie Stone Jr. Visitation will be held 12 to 1 p.m. Wednesday, October 12, 2016 at Apostolic Life Cathedral, Huntington, WV with the funeral service to be conducted at 1 p.m. with Rev. E.S. Harper officiating. A private burial will take place with Proctorville VFW Post# 6878 conducting military graveside rites. So sorry for your loss. Have many fond memories from my childhood visiting my Dad's family in Huntington. Aunt Lois and Uncle Jack and Sharon are in many of them. Thoughts and prayers with you all..
