Lois Ann Klein Slone, 84, of Danville, KY, formerly of Ashland, KY, passed away at home surrounded by her loving family on October 10, 2016.

Lois was born on February 7, 1932 in Cincinnati, OH to the late Chris Klein and Aline Taylor Klein. She attended Western Hills High School in Cincinnati. She met her wonderful husband, the late Freddie R. Slone, while working at Wright-Patterson Airforce Base in Dayton, OH. They were married December 5, 1954 in Cincinnati, OH. Lois worked for the Federal Bureau of Prisons until she retired in 1992.

Lois is preceded in death by her parents, husband, and her brother, James T. Klein of Cincinnati, OH.

Lois is survived by three daughters: Kathy A. Slone of Richmond, KY, Jo Ellen Slone Walton (Kenny) of Richmond, KY, Lisa S. Jackson (Carl) of Lexington, KY; one son: Michael W. Slone of Lakeland, FL; three granddaughters: Carly J. Dennis (Matthew) of Lexington, KY, Lindsey R. Walton of Richmond, KY, Stormie Slone of Tennessee; one sister: Debbie S. Cummings (Dan) of Cincinnati, OH; five sisters-in-law: Ruth Spatig of Olive Branch, MS, Helen Smith of Quincy, IL, Dottie Slone of Ashland, KY, Bea Matthews of Ashland, KY, and Jackie Klein of Cincinnati, OH; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be on Thursday, October 13, 2016 from 10 am to Noon at John Steen Funeral Home, 1501 Central Avenue, Ashland, KY. Services will be immediately following at Ashland Cemetery Chapel.

Memorial donations can be made to the Boyle County Public Library or to Operation Christmas Child.

The family of Lois Slone would like to extend our sincere thanks to the following people: Dr. Alan Beckman and the radiation/oncology staff at Baptist Health Lexington, the nursing staff on 5B North Tower and the palliative care team at Baptist Health Lexington.
