Lois DenBeste Uittenbogaard of Chesapeake, Ohio died quietly in her sleep on October 5,2016 at the age of 100 years and five months.
The first 80 years of her life were lived on farms in northwest Iowa, first as a daughter and then as a wife and mother. She joined First Presbyterian Church in Hospers, IA in 1950 and was a member for the rest of her life. A few years after the death of her husband John, she moved to Chesapeake OH, where she lived with her daughter Elaine and son-in-law Kerry Tutt. She was preceded in death by her husband John and her daughter Elaine. She is survived by her son, the Rev. Roger Uittenbogaard and his wife the Rev. Suzanne Uittenbogaard of Lebanon, PA, her son-in-law Kerry Tutt of Chesapeake who was a loving caregiver for her during her last years, and her grandson Jeffrey Tutt and his wife Catherine of Columbus, Ohio. A memorial service will be held at Second Presbyterian Church of Huntington, WV on Wednesday, October 26 at 11:00 am. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation in her memory to Second Presbyterian Church, 901 Jefferson Ave, Huntington. Interment will be in Sheldon, IA at a later time.
