Jesse Emerson Belford
Otway – Jesse Emerson Belford, 87, of Otway, passed away Friday, Oct. 21, 2016 at SOMC Hospice in Portsmouth, Ohio. Jesse was born Dec. 31, 1928 in Portsmouth, Ohio to the late Jess and Lake Erie Riggs Belford. Jess retired as a maintenance mechanic from Goodyear Atomic; he was a Scioto County Sheriff Deputy for 45 years and a Marine veteran of the Korean War.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two grandchildren. He is survived by his wife, Juanita Monroe Belford whom he married Dec. 9, 1950 in Sciotoville, Ohio. Also surviving are five sons, Michael (Joyce) Belford, Joseph (Sandra) Belford, Rodger (Helen) Belford, Timothy Belford and Jeremy Belford; two daughters, Tyna (Michael) VonDriska and Pam Robirds; eight grandchildren, Jenny, Christopher, Michelle, Joseph, Sherri, Rodger David, Jamie and Daryan; fourteen great grandchildren, many nieces and nephews and a host of friends.
Funeral services will be 12:00 pm, Tuesday, Oct. 25, 2016 at Harrison-Pyles Funeral Home in Wheelersburg, Ohio with Pastor Michael Musser and Pastor Terry Cremeans officiating and interment to follow, with graveside military services, in Patton Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home 5:00 -8:00 pm Monday, Oct. 24, 2016 and one hour before the service on Tuesday. On-line condolences may be made at www.harrison-pyles .com.
