Barbara Denise Johnson EllisBarbara Denise Johnson Ellis, 61, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, October 22nd, 2016, at University of Kentucky Medical Center. She was born December 19th, 1954 in Huntington, WV, to Bob and Ruth Johnson. Barbara, known to her friends and family as Bobbie, graduated from Barboursville High School in 1972. She attended Ohio University, where she earned an associate’s degree in art. Bobbie was well known for her sharp wit and quick smile. Her favorite pastime was making people laugh. She was never happier than when she was telling jokes and making people smile. Bobbie was a lover of books, an avid gardener and loved nature. She was a friend to all creatures and was always at home when her hands were in the dirt. She loved music, dancing, singing, and above all, she loved her family. She was a daughter, a sister, a mother, a niece and, most of all, a Grand Bobbie. She is reunited in death with her father, Bob Johnson and her husband, David Ellis, her aunt, Phyllis Jeffrey and uncle, Jim McCallister. She will be tremendously missed by her mother, Ruth Johnson, her daughters, Carrie (John) Hess and Jerrie (Nick) Wintz, her son, Daniel (Myndi) Mueller, step-daughter, Wendi Martin, grandchildren, Ethan & Ellaina, Olivia & Annabelle, Braydon, Zayne, Bella & Colton and Jacob, Alex & Emily, brother, Rusty (Karen) Johnson, nephews, Jeremiah (Ashley) Johnson, Nathaniel (Amanda) Johnson and niece, Sarah Johnson, aunts, Helen (Kendall) Lucas and Judy (Bill) Vipperman, and uncles, Roger (Mary) McCallister and Jerry (Marlene) McCallister. Bobbie will be celebrated by her loved ones on Wednesday, October 26th, 2016, at Wallace Funeral Home in Barboursville, WV. Visitation will be at 12 pm, with the funeral to follow at 1pm. She will be laid to rest beside her beloved husband at Baylous Cemetery in Salt Rock, WV. Friends unable to attend may leave remembrances at www.timeformemory.com/wallace.

In loving memory of Bobby.... My journey…to Heaven. If today were my last day here on earth there are things I’d do… I’d want to stop by and spend some time with a friend or two. I’d also want to give each one a hug, and tell them I’m fine, I’ll be leaving here, but going where the sun always shines. I really don’t want anyone to be sad, or upset or shed any tears, Because where I’m going there will be no pain or fears. I have some plans as I prepare for the journey today, I’ll sit by my Jesus, and listen to what he has to say. We’ll sit by the river of life, and watch the stream go by, Walk down the streets of gold, and what a sight for my eyes. We’ll walk through the gates of pearl, and meet all my friends, I know that day will be so grand and it will never end. I want to hug my grandma, because I’ve missed her so, I’m sure she’ll show me around and let me know where I should go. There are many that I’ve missed and want to find, Because they were always so good, loving and kind. Don’t be afraid or fret, shed any tears for me, I’ve lived my life, and today I’ll get my crown of victory. I’ll be in no more pain, or any worries to think about. When I get to heaven I know that I will shout. In only a short time, we all be together again, We can take a stroll down the streets where there is no sin. Every thing will be new, and we will never grow old. Just as I had read in the bible and told. Rejoice, for today is my final time down here… Give God the praise, and wipe a way all the tears. I love you all, and thank you for what we have shared, But I would not trade heaven for gold or the price it would fair. Wendell Mays In memory of my friend Bobby-2016

When I heard about passing my heart was instantly broke. All i can say is Bobbie was always ready to make you smile. There are a lot of old memories and good times with the whole family. My thoughts are with Ruth as she has lost her angel, and Carrie as she has lost her best friend and an awesome mom... my heart breaks for you all.... Wendell Mays -- my prayers are with you all.
