Betty Lou Ward, 74, of Chesapeake, Ohio passed away peacefully at home surrounded by family after a brief illness on Wednesday January 4, 2017. She was the daughter of the late Arlie and Lillie Johnson Delawder. She is survived by her husband Lowell Ward of Chesapeake, Ohio; two sons Tim (Alicia) Justice of Supply, NC and Robbie Justice of Shallotte, NC; step son Warren Ward of Huntington, WV; three daughters Debbie Ellis of Proctorville, Ohio, Angie Callaway of Proctorville, Ohio and Pam (Mark) Burns of Chesapeake, Ohio; ten grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; one brother Dale (Lois) Delawder of Chesapeake, Ohio; one sister Brenda Wright of Chesapeake, Ohio; sisters-in-law Sandy Delawder of Chesapeake, Ohio and Colleen Carpenter of Proctorville, Ohio; one brother-in-law Willis Chaney; a host of nieces and nephews; and special friends Sally and Jeff Spence. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Justice; mother-in-law Dora Justice; two brothers Marvin and Darvin Delawder; and one sister Barbara Chaney. She was a member of Mount Hope Baptist Church is Chesapeake, Ohio. The family wishes to extend a special thank you to Dr. Melin Moses and Pastor Mark Roach. She retired from Marshall University. Funeral service will be conducted 2 p.m. Sunday, January 8, 2017 at Hall Funeral Home and Crematory, Proctorville, Ohio. Burial will follow in Rome Cemetery, Proctorville, Ohio. Visitation will be held 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday, January 7, 2017 at Hall Funeral Home and Crematory, Proctorville, Ohio.
