1924 - 2017
Eva Marie Damron Powers, 92 years, 1 month and 1 day, of Proctorville, Ohio passed away Sunday, January 15, 2017 at the home of her daughter with whom she lived. She was born on December 14, 1924 daughter of the late Carl Preston and Maybelle Conrad Damron. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, Arnold P. Powers; a granddaughter Alicia G. Doyle League; three sisters Norma Garretson, Betty Porter and Juanita Kincaid; and two brothers infant Carl P. Damron Jr. and Laundle “Chuck” Damron. She is survived by her daughter and “favorite” son-in-law Carla and John Doyle of Proctorville, Ohio; two grandsons Johnny “Buster” Doyle and Wes “Butch” (Jujuan) Doyle of Valrico, FL; one granddaughter Kelly Doyle (Mark Sims) of Riverview, FL; six great grandchildren Shadarra (Cliff) Welton, Rick League, Heather (Chris) Frazier, Terrence “T” Reeves, Amanda League (Brandon Conway) and Jorden Doyle(Tasha Steiner) all of Florida; four great great grandchildren Alexia Welton, Gerrick Peterson, Caden Welton and Jase Doyle also of Florida; a sister Frances Flesher of Huntington; two brothers Bill (June) Damron of Chesapeake, Ohio and Ernie (Arlene) Damron of Huntington, WV; sister-in-law Betty Damron of Sebastian, FL; many nieces and nephews; her gas gals ladies group she thought the world of. She was a 1944 graduate of Huntington East High School and retired from Columbia Gas in Huntington. Eva was also a member of Harmony United Methodist Church for many decades. The family would like to extend a special thank you to the team from Hospice of Huntington, Yanet, Becky, Darren, and Denise, for the support and help and also a special thank you to Dr. Shawn Coffman and Chelsea Williamson, LPN of HIMG. Funeral service will be conducted 2 p.m. Thursday, January 19, 2017 at Hall Funeral Home and Crematory, Proctorville, Ohio by Rev. Phil Wilson. Burial will follow in Rome Cemetery, Proctorville, Ohio. Visitation will be held 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. Thursday, January 19, 2017 at the funeral home.
