Funeral services for Richard Elmer ‘Bud’ Laurent Sr., 71, of Spurger will be 2:00 pm Saturday, January 21, 2017 at Farmer Funeral Home with interment following in Franks Branch Cemetery in Fred. Visitation will begin at 5:00 pm Friday at the funeral home.
Mr. Laurent died January 17, 2017 at his residence.
A native of Silsbee, he was a long time resident of Spurger Bud was a self-employed carpenter before retiring. He was a member of Abundant Life Pentecostal Church in Spurger. Mr. Laurent is preceded in death by his parents Elmer Curtis and Ruth Crain Laurent and sisters Betty Harris, Lucy Lindsey and JoAnne Rich.
Survivors include his wife Kimberly Craft Laurent of Spurger; sons Richard ‘Bubba’ Laurent Jr and wife Michele of Spurger; Robert Laurent of Spurger, Steven Laurent and wife Crystal of Silsbee and Tommy Jerrell Laurent of Lumberton; daughters Tresea Merritt and husband Simon of Lubbock and Connie Laurent of Vidor; brothers Herman Laurent Sr. of Spurger, Curtis Laurent of Spurger and Tommy Lynn Laurent of Spurger; and sisters Sara Richardson of Mauriceville, Mae Page of Burnette, Rose York of Silsbee, Shirley Laurent of Silsbee and Mary Dryden of Kountze.
Mr. Laurent is also survived by his twenty-one grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.
Bud will be sorely missed by his loving family and many extended relatives and friends.
