Edna LeMaster Rigsby, 97, of Richmond, formerly of Ashland, passed away Friday, Jan. 20, 2017, in the Compassionate Care Center in Richmond.
She was born Nov. 21, 1919, in Blaine, a daughter of the late Doc and Mae LeMaster. She was also preceded in death by her loving husband, Clifford Harold Rigsby in 1996; a son, Michael Clifford Rigsby in 1998; brothers Doc and Durward LeMaster; and sisters, Eula Bea Hafey and Phyllis Sloan. Edna was a current member of Union City Baptist Church in Richmond and a former member of Summit Missionary Baptist Church. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother and homemaker. Survivors include a son, Roger Rigsby (Debra) of Summit; daughters Sharon Rigsby Tussey (Clyde); Sheila Rigsby Austin (James); and Kathy Rigsby, all of Richmond, KY; daughter in law, Mary Fletcher of Tucson, AZ; brother, Henry LeMaster (Mary Ann) of South Point, Ohio; sisters Joan Stephens of South Shore; Elaine Dunger and Donna Kay Druell (Ned) of Spartanburg, S.C.; 13 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-granddaughter. Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 24, 2017, at Steen Funeral Home 13th - Street Chapel with Pastor David King officiating. Burial will follow in Golden Oaks Memorial Gardens.
