Yvonne Shutt Barker, 79, of South Point, Ohio joyfully ran into Heaven on Wednesday January 25, 2017 at Heartland of Riverview, South Point. She was born in Elliott County, Kentucky to the late Talmadge and Beulah Williams Ritchie. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, John Shutt; granddaughter Felicity Shutt; in-laws John and Grace Shutt; and sister-in-law Annette Ritchie. Yvonne is survived by her husband Charles Barker; brother Zane Ritchie; children Tammy (Earl) Burns, Shane Ritchie and Trisha (Brian) Hurst; grandchildren Taija, Tiana, Kirsten, Kaleb and Shawn; five great grandchildren; stepchildren Clara Barker, Debra (Dale) Short and Charles (Iona) Barker; beloved aunt Christine Atkins; a niece and nephew; and many cousins and friends. Yvonne graduated from South Point High School in 1955, attended St. Mary’s School of Nursing and Ashland Community College. In addition to raising a family, she was employed by Dr. Gardner, Dr. Lyons, Corman’s Style Shop, and Kentucky Power Company, all in Ashland. Yvonne was a devoted Christian last attending Salt and Light Church, Ashland. Much gratitude to the staff of Heartland of Riverview, Heartland Hospice, and the Apgar Doctors for their wonderful care. Funeral service will be conducted 1 p.m. Monday, January 30, 2017 at Hall Funeral Home and Crematory, Proctorville, Ohio with the Rev. Greg Aldridge officiating. Burial will follow in Highland Memorial Gardens, South Point, Ohio.
