Sonia Renee Leake Dent, 48, of Ashland, passed away Friday, Feb. 3, 2017, at her residence. She was born Dec. 2, 1968, in Ashland, a daughter of Paul and Jeannine Meade Leake of Ashland. Sonia was a member of Wildwood Church of God. She worked as Director of Vascular Services at King's Daughters Medical Center for 19 years, and was currently an Associate Professor at Marshall University School of Nursing. She was an active member of Crossfit Count Down and thoroughly enjoyed her time there with friends who she thought of as family. In addition to her parents, she is survived by her husband, Garon Dent of Ashland; a son, Steven Grant Ramey of Ashland; two daughters, Alyssa Ramey Coleman and husband Parker and Abigail Renee Dent of Ashland; two sisters, Amy Wilburn and husband Rob and Stacy Acuff and husband Aaron of Ashland; two beloved grandchildren, Bentley Grant Ramey and Joelle Anyston Coleman; and a host of loving extended family members and dear friends. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 7, 2017, at Steen Funeral Home - 13th Street Chapel in Ashland. A private graveside service will be Wednesday, Feb. 8, 2017, at Meade Family Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Alcoholics Anonymous.
