In addition to his father, he was also preceded in death by his older brother, Matthew Ryan Adkins, paternal grandparents, Arnold and Iva Adkins, and maternal grandfather, Raymond Barbour. Left to cherish his memory here on Earth are his mother, the loves of his life, his children, Charles Adkins, Zach Adkins, Sophia Adkins, and his twins Lennon and Layla Adkins, his maternal grandmother, Gladys Spurlock Barbour, nephew, Ryan Adkins, niece, Matti Adkins, sister-in-law, Jody Thornburg, special aunt, Jean Barbour, special friend, Robert Martin, and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, church family and dear friends. Andy attended Norwood Free Methodist Church. The family would like to extend a special “Thank You” to Hospice of Huntington and Chaplain Tracy Call, Nurse Darcy, and Social Worker Margie Copley for the care and compassion they showed Andy throughout his courageous battle. In lieu of flowers, donations to Norwood Free Methodist Church, 3743 Norwood Road, Huntington, WV 25705 are requested. Funeral services will be conducted at 6 p.m. Sunday, February 19, 2017 at the Wallace Funeral Home & Chapel, Barboursville, by Pastor Candace Sturgill and Pastor Don Pope. Dear Teresa and family... I am so very sorry to learn about the loss of your Andy. Fortunately, death is only a temporary part of life. Jesus promised us a wonderful resurrection of the dead (John 5:28,29/1 Thessalonians 4:13, 14), so we have the hope of being reunited with our deceased loved ones. In the meantime, even though the pain of loss through death may sometimes seem insurmountable, rest assured that God will give you the strength necessary to endure the coming months (Psalm 46:1). Please accept my deepest sympathy and sincere condolences and please do feel free to contact me. JW.org
