 Barbara Jean “Sissy” Nelson, 55, of Wayne, WV, passed away February 17, 2017 at the Emogene Dolin Jones Hospice House. Funeral services will be conducted at 3:30 p.m. Monday, February 20, 2017 at the Wallace Funeral Home & Chapel, Barboursville, by Pastor Jason Salmons. Burial will be in Morrison Cemetery, Barboursville. She was born September 24, 1961 in Huntington, WV, a daughter of Barbara McCoy Ferguson of Barboursville and the late Ernest Ferguson Jr. She is survived by her husband, David Lee Nelson; one sister, Sandy Smith of Chesapeake, Ohio; two brothers, Richard and Scott Ferguson, both of Barboursville, WV; and a host of loving family and friends. Visitation will be from 2:30 to 3:30 p.m. Monday at the Wallace Funeral Home, Barboursville. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Emogene Dolin Jones Hospice House, 3100 Staunton Road, Huntington, WV 25702. Barbara, Sandy and family. I was so sorry to hear of Sissy's passing. I think of my first third grade class at Beech Fork and remember encouraging her to do as much for herself as she could. She turned into a beautiful woman and I am sure will be greatly missed. I am sure she is walking, running and maybe even dancing next to her dad. May she rest in peace, and all of you, too.

So many times over the years I've though of Sissy. I knew her in high school and got to know her better when we were in WV Rehabilitation Center together. I can still hear her laugh and see her beautiful smile. My prayers for comfort and the peace that passes all understanding are for those affected by her passing. May God cover you with his divine blessings.

I did not know Sissy. My oldest brother died at the same hospice house on the same day. I am so sorry for your loss. My condolences to all of the family.
