Larry J. “Goose” Riley, Huntington native and lately of Sterling, VA, passed away on March 11, 2017 of natural causes. Larry was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force and over his life was an employee of Eastern Airlines, served as a police officer in Herndon, VA and worked at several other companies as a personnel and facilities manager. He was also an avid motorcyclist and eventually retired to Daytona Beach, FL. In 2010 he relocated back to eastern WV to be closer to family and eventually moved to Sterling, VA. He was preceded in death by his parents, Bernard and Dorothy Hagley Riley. Larry is survived by his sons Michael and Tim, his daughters-in-law Rosalie and Carla, six grandchildren, Blaine, Jonathon, Kathryn (Scott), Russ, Linda, and Jill; as well as six great grandchildren Leeland, Ricky, Edward, Joanah, Dalton, and Calvin Bo; and has another grandson on the way. Larry was loved and will be missed by his entire family. Funeral service will be conducted 2 p.m. Wednesday March 15, 2017 at Hall Funeral Home and Crematory, Proctorville, Ohio. Burial will follow in Ridgelawn Memorial Park, Huntington, WV. Visitation will be held from 1 to 2 p.m. Wednesday March 15, 2017 at the funeral home.
