Jesse Wayne Kelley Click for Condolences      Printable Version
1942 - 2017

Jesse Wayne KelleyJesse Wayne "Jess" Kelley, 74 of Huntington, WV went to be with the Lord on March 23, 2017. Born in Columbus, Ohio, Jess was the son of Reverend Jesse J Kelley and Avis Rucker Kelley. He served in the Army and later did volunteer work at the VA hospital until his illness prevented him from doing so. He retired from the Lawrence County Sheriff's Department where he was a detective. Jess was a 1960 graduate of West Jefferson High School in Columbus, Ohio and earned his criminal justice degree from Ohio State University. He enjoyed flying, camping, nature, and riding motorcycles. Jess loved his animals and referred to his dogs as his "kids". His grandchildren held a special place in his heart and he enjoyed taking them camping, fishing, and attending their various activities. He was a member of the Christian Motorcycle Association and Tri-State Worship Center. Having a sweet spirit, kind heart and an engaging smile, Jess was liked by all who knew him and had a joke for every occasion. Feeding the homeless and visiting nursing homes brought him great joy. Survivors include his wife of nineteen years, Tina Lykins Kelley of Huntington, his son Allan Blake of Huntington, daughter Alicia Blake Clayborn of Ceredo, his two grandchildren Blake Clayborn and Morgan Clayborn of Ceredo, a sister-in-law and brother-in-law Melanie and Steve Simmons, a nephew Michael Simmons, and a niece Stephanie Simmons Jordan and her husband Steve Jordan. Visitation will be Monday March 27 at noon and the funeral service at 1:00 pm at Tri-State Worship Center in South Point, Ohio on Solida Road with Pastor Terry Wagner officiating. In lieu of flowers contributions may made to Tri-State Worship Center. Hall Funeral Home and Crematory, Proctorville, Ohio is in charge of arrangements. Condolences may be expressed to the family at www.timeformemory.com/hall or ehallfuneralhome.com .

My deepest sympathy for your loss. May God bless you and your family in this time of sorrow. Psalms 72:12 For he will rescue the poor who cry for help. Also the lowly one and whoever has no helper.
