Dixie G. Maynard, 83, of Chesapeake, Ohio passed away Thursday April 6, 2017 at the Emogene Dolin Jones Hospice House of Huntington, WV. She was born September 26, 1933 in Pike County, KY to the late Ballard and Ida Goff Gibson. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter Ida M. Robison and six sisters. Dixie was a retired cook from AEP Riverboat. She is survived by her husband John F. Maynard; three sons Billy Blackburn of California and Jeffery (Lori) Blackburn of Chesapeake, Ohio, and John L. (Eddie) Maynard of Chesapeake; two daughters Eva Sarver of Ashland, KY and Annette (Bob) Hupp of Proctorville; numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren; one brother Don Gibson of Sydney, KY; and numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral service will be conducted 11 a.m. Saturday April 8, 2017 at Hall Funeral Home and Crematory, Proctorville, Ohio. Entombment will follow in Rome Cemetery, Proctorville, Ohio.
