Phillip W. Lawhon, 77, of Ona, passed away Saturday, April 8, 2017 at his residence. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, April 13, 2017 at the Wallace Funeral Home & Chapel, Barboursville, by Pastor Dale Barnett, Pastor James Kessick and Robert “Bob” Bowen. Burial will be in Ridgelawn Memorial Park, Huntington. He was a member of Abundant Life Baptist Church and a veteran of the US Navy. He was born March 31, 1940 in Cabell County, a son of the late Glen and Thelma Halley Lawhon. He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Glenda Gayle Bowen Lawhon and two sons, Phillip Weston Lawhon II, and his wife, Tonya, of Barboursville, and Michael Glen Lawhon and his wife, Andrea, of Elkview, WV; eleven grandchildren, Anthony, Cassie, Dianna, Michael, Aaron, Cody, Adam, Tyler, Jason, Brian and Noah; 20 great-grandchildren; and two special friends, Lonnie and “Coach”. Phillip was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed his cabin in the mountians with his loving family. His cocker spaniel, Angel, was always by his side.
