Robert William Sayre, Jr., 89, of Milton, passed away Friday, April 14, 2017. Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, April 18, 2017 at the Wallace Funeral Home, Milton by Dr. Rev. Lynn Cartwright. Entombment will be in Forest Memorial Park. He was born January 10, 1928 in Point Pleasant, WV, a son of the late Dr. Robert William Sayre, Sr., and Lillian Mae Capehart Sayre. He was a veteran of the US Army and a retired employee of Borden’s. He was preceded in death by his sister, Betty Moore. Robert is survived by his loving wife of 65 years, Winona Hart Sayre; daughter and son-in-law, Mary Beth and Michael Ward of Zanesville, OH; sons and daughters-in-law, Robert William III and Carol Sayre, of Lancaster, OH and David Hart and Tina Sayre of Stoutsville, OH; grandchildren and their spouses, Jennifer Ward and Rick Holmes, Benjamin Sayre, Paul and Sarah Ward, Daniel Sayre, Megan and Andrew Byerly, Katrina and Adam Hetterle, Joshua Hart and Nusi Sayre; great-grandchildren, Jackson Ward, Isabella Ward, Allie Byerly, Amelia Hetterle, Maya Sayre, and Isla Hetterle. Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Monday and after 12:00 noon Tuesday at the Wallace Funeral Home, Milton. Online condolences may be expressed to the family at www.timeformemory.com/wallace. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Milton United Methodist Church, Box 597, Milton, WV 25541.
