Loretta  Wiethop RogersRita Wiethop Rogers, age 77, of Silsbee, Texas, entered Heaven’s gate on April 24, 2017. Rita was born September 19, 1939, in Silsbee, Texas, the daughter of Clifford Herschel, Sr. and Marie (Paine) Aultz.

Rita was preceded in death by her parents, a sister Carrie Marie Aultz, and the loves of her life, Thomas Bryan Wiethop, Jr., after 38 years of marriage, and William “Sonny” Rogers, after 12 years of marriage.

A consummate mother and homemaker, Rita was an excellent cook and thoroughly enjoyed preparing meals for family and friends. Rita passed down the love of cooking and many of her secret recipes to her children. Rita also enjoyed gardening, sewing, fishing, dancing, playing dominoes, and her little dachshund, Abby. Those who knew Rita, knew that her world revolved around her family. She especially enjoyed when her family gathered in her home for special occasions.

Rita is survived by her children, Peggy Marie Story and her husband, James, Thomas Bryan Wiethop III and his wife, Jeani, Charles Frederick Wiethop and Teresa Dian (Wiethop) Hawkins and her husband, Richard; grandchildren, Micheal Jason Story and his wife, Melissa, and Nichole Danielle Story; step-grandchildren, Nicholas Michael Bowden, Matthew Richard Hawkins and his wife, Brianna, and Melissa Lauren Chaplik and her husband, Brian; great-grandchildren, Travis “T.J.” Santil Jones, Jr., Alannah Jasmine Richardson; and step great-grandson, Harrison Shea Chaplik. Rita is also survived by her siblings, Clifford Herschel Aultz, Jr. and his wife, Barbara, Ann (Aultz) Brown, Barbara Sue (Aultz) Sangwin, Donna (Aultz) Brown and her husband Jim, and Jerry Lyn Aultz and his wife, Uni; many nieces and nephews; and a number of other relatives and close friends.

Her funeral service will take place at Farmer Funeral Home, 415 North 4th Street, Silsbee, TX on Saturday, April 29, 2017 at 1:p.m. Visitation will be held from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 29, 2017 at the Farmer Funeral Home.

The family wishes to thank all of those who cared for Rita during her illness, with a special thanks to New Century Hospice and her case manager/nurse, Nicki, and social worker, Nicole.
