1949 - 2017
Clifton Ray Adkins, 67, of Huntington, made the remarkable journey to his Heavenly Home on Monday, April 24, 2017. Visitation will be held Thursday, April 27, 2017 from 6 pm to 8 p.m. at Hall Funeral Home and Crematory, Proctorville, Ohio. A graveside service will be held at Ridgelawn Memorial Park, Huntington W.Va., Friday, April 28, 2017 at 2 p.m. with Pastor Trent Eastman officiating. Clifton was born August 14, 1949 in West Hamlin, W.Va., son of the late Willard and Josephine Adkins. He leaves his wife of 31 years, Deborah Adkins, whom he loves deeply. He is a loving father to his sons, Clifton Adkins Jr., wife, Jennifer; Benjamin Adkins, wife, Daphine; and Brian Ross, wife, Joni. Clifton adored his grandchildren; Alex & Mason Adkins, Haley & "Little" Ben Adkins, Bryson & Sophie Ross and Travie Adkins. Son in law of the late Dr. L. Walter Adkins Jr. and his wife Easter Adkins, Brothers; Emmitt Adkins, wife, Dolores; preceded in death by William "Bill" Adkins and wife Sandi; brothers- in -law; Charles Adkins and Bradford Adkins. Clifton also leaves behind his nieces, Kelly Stump (David), Kimberly Smith (Randy), Trina Rothrock (Mark), Rachel Sierson (Josh) and nephews, Michael (Julie) Adkins, Emmitt (Katie) Adkins, and Matthew Adkins, the late Nicky Adkins and the late Chris Adkins; cousin, Ian Stevens (Jean) from England; special friends, Tommy and Debbie Watson, Danny Watson and the extended Watson Family; many special great nieces and nephews, cousins, extended family and a countless host of friends. Clifton lived his life traveling the country as an owner/operator truck driver. His greatest passion was being out on the water, in a boat or on the side of a riverbank, pond or lake fishing. He also enjoyed being on the fairway, swinging his golf clubs with his two sons and brother. Clifton attended New Baptist Church in Huntington. Please remember him as being a great witness to our Heavenly Father. He will be remembered by his family and friends as a wonderful role model, protector, advisor and teacher of many things. In lieu of flowers, donations will be gratefully accepted to the funeral home to help offset funeral expenses. Debbie,
I'm sorry to hear about clifton's passing. I never knew him, but i'm sure he was a good man and no one could have been a better husband to you than he. I wasn't able to attend the visitation or the service, but wanted you to know that my thoughts and prayers are with you at this time.
