1936 - 2017
Emory Lee Blankenship, 80, of Huntington, WV, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, May 13, 2017. Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 am Wednesday, May 17, 2017 at the Wallace Funeral Home & Chapel with Pastor Greg Lunsford officiating. Burial will be in Forest Memorial Park, Milton. He was born June 30, 1936 in Oakvale, WV, a son of the late Emory and Cleo Terry Blankenship. He was an auto mechanic and was a member of Beulah Ann Missionary Baptist Church. He was an avid hunter and loved the outdoors. He was preceded in death by his wife Thelma Pauline Blankenship, a sister, Claudia Ann Blankenship, two grandsons, Stewart Chapman Jr. and Matthew Chapman, and a son-in-law, Michael Mount. He is survived by three daughters, Trish Mount of Ona, WV, Sherry (Rusty) Dobbins of Barboursville, and Lisa (Bobby) Reynolds of Proctorville, OH; one sister, Shirley Waldron of Narrows, VA; one brother, Nathan Blankenship of Oakvale, WV; five grandchildren, Jason (Veronica) Napier, Jessica (Latoya) Napier, Andy (Kama) Reynolds, Samantha Taylor, and Amanda (Brett) Bocook; twelve great grandchildren, and special friend, his dog Rudy. Visitation will be from 6-8 pm Tuesday at the Wallace Funeral Home, Barboursville. Online condolences may be expressed to the family at www.timeformemory.com/wallace.
