Lonnie  McGallionFuneral services for Lonnie McGallion, 70, of Vinton, LA will be 10:00 am Saturday, June 17, 2017 at Farmer Funeral Home in Silsbee with interment following at Franks Branch Cemetery in Fred. Visitation will be from 5:00 to 8:00 Friday at the funeral home.

Mr. McGallion passed away June 11, 2017 at his residence.

Lonnie was born February 8, 1947 in Fred to Sam Cheatham and Vallie Lee Hutto McGallion. He was a lifelong resident of Fred before moving to Vinton in February.

Lonnie was a highly decorated US Army veteran of the Vietnam war. He was awarded a Purple Heart, Bronze Star Medal, National Defense Service Medal, and numerous other military honors. Mr. McGallion worked many years as a welder and boilermaker in construction. He was a loving father, brother, grandfather, and friend.

Lonnie was preceded in death by his parents, his twin brother Onnie McGallion, brother Herman McGallion, and sisters Neri Lee Miller and Marvi Lee Crosby.

Survivors include his sons Lonnie Paul McGallion and wife Amaris of Bridge City, Bradley McGallion and wife Hope of Vinton, LA; daughters Sherry Ann Linton of LaGrange, GA, Tracy Leann Broussard and husband Colby of Lumberton, Kimberly McGallion of Amarillo; sister Ludie Mae McGallion of Baton Rouge; eighteen grandchildren and three great grandchildren.

Lonnie will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
