A memorial service for Ray L. Laurent Sr., 87, of Marshall, formerly of Zavalla and Silsbee, will be 2:00 pm Saturday, June 24, 2017 at Farmer Funeral Home
Mr. Laurent died Wednesday, June 21, 2017 at Heritage House in Marshall, TX. He was born February 26, 1930 in Leesville, LA to Clifford Elmer Laurent and Roberta Lewis Laurent (both deceased).
He lived in and around East Texas most of his life, working as a welder and logger. He later managed chicken houses until he retired.
Mr. Laurent is survived by his loving wife Alter Largent Laurent; sons Ray Laurent Jr. and wife Janice of Panola, Jerry Sneed and wife Cheri of Zavalla, and Dale Ray Laurent of Zavalla; daughter Sharron Laurent Havard of Marshall; twenty-seven grandchildren; forty-eight great grandchildren one great-great grandchild; and multiple cousins, nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by sons Samuel Laurent and Larry Laurent; daughters Therese Laurent and Tammy Sneed; great grandson Bryce Mitchell; great granddaughter Tenlee Rae; three brothers and four sisters.
