Donald Bronson OsburnDonald Bronson Osburn, 89 years of age, of Proctorville, Ohio passed away Saturday June 24, 2017 at Heartland of Riverview. Don was born on December 15, 1927, in Wayne County, West Virginia to the late Wayne and Eula Tabor Osburn. He was preceded in death by the love of his life, Ethel Merritt Osburn. They were married 68 years. Also preceding him in death were his four brothers, Earl, Glen, Kenneth, and Jack Osburn. Don worked in the service and parts department of many car dealerships and freightliner companies. The last time he retired, he worked for Kenny Queen Hardware in Proctorville, Ohio part-time until Ethel became ill. During the years they lived in Wayne, WV, he was on the Town Council, a member of Lions Club, volunteer fireman and an EMT. He was always involved in the churches they were member s of, Wayne and Kenova United Methodist Church and New Hope United Methodist Church. He is survived by his daughter Sandra Brubeck (William) of Barboursville, WV and son Donald Ray Osburn (Peggy) of Kenova, WV; his grandchildren who were his pride and joy, Justin Wade Brubeck (Melissa), C. Michael Brubeck (Marybeth), Michael “Micky” Osburn (Tammy), and Stacy Lemaster (Richard); his great –grandchildren, Jay Michael Cisco, Mason Brubeck, Karli Brubeck, Annie Brubeck, Ellie Brubeck, Bryn Osburn, Brooklyn Osburn, and Jaxson Lemaster. He is also survived by seven sisters-in-law, Billie Jean Osburn, Retha Thompson, Sue Osburn, Goldie Gilbert, Margaret McNeely, Jewel Thompson, and Jean Bryan along with numerous nieces and nephews. The family would like to thank the staff of Heartland and Hospice of Huntington for their loving care of Don and the family. We would especially like to thank Dr. Drew Apgar of Heartland and Darren Reedy, RN of Hospice, who were sent from heaven to help through our time of need. You will always hold a special place in our hearts. The grandsons and great-grandsons will serve as pallbearers. Funeral service will be conducted 2 p.m. Wednesday June 28, 2017 at Hall Funeral Home and Crematory, Proctorville, Ohio. Burial will follow in Elmwood Cemetery, Wayne, WV. Visitation will be held from 12 to 2 p.m. Wednesday June 28, 2017 at the funeral home. Condolences may be expressed to the family at www.timeformemory.com/hall.
