Carlton Berkley Carlton Berkley “Nose” Nelson, 83, of Barboursville, passed away June 24, 2017. He was born December 9, 1933, in Huntington, WV, a son of the late Clyde Eugene Nelson and Edna Stewart Nelson Shy. He was also preceded in death by two sons, Berkley Nelson Jr. and C. Blaine Nelson. He is survived by his wife, Barbara Ferguson Nelson; one daughter and son-in-law, Carla and Kevin Linville of Huntington; two sons and daughter-in-law, Jimmy Nelson of Huntington and Chad and Sharon Nelson of Huntington; six grandchildren, Kelly Swann, Susan Linville, Tara Nicely, Marissa Dillon, Taylor Nelson, and J.C. Nelson; five great grandchildren, Will and Eric Swann, Darby and Lee Sansom, and Lyla Nicely. Carlton was a US Navy veteran, serving as a radioman aboard a destroyer escort in the Korean Conflict era. He began his career as a lineman with C&P Telephone, and retired as a manager for Bell Atlantic. He was an active volunteer in the early years of Barboursville youth football in coaching and administration. He was an avid and accomplished golfer, and was a constant fixture at Riviera for many years. Visitation will be from 4 to 6 p.m. Saturday, July 1, 2017, at Wallace Funeral Home and Chapel, Barboursville. Condolences may be expressed to the family at www.timeformemory.com/wallace.
