Sara Elizabeth Stavros, born Sept. 23, 1941, passed away after a long illness, June 28, 2017, in Kings Brook Life Care Center in Ashland. She was born in Lebanon and was preceded in death by her husband, George P Stavros; her parents, F.M and Ilda Thomas Warren; four siblings, Frank Warren, Jim Warren, Tim Warren and Norma Warren.
She was a life-long member of St. George Greek Orthodox church in Huntington, W.Va. She enjoyed many years of volunteering at Our Lady of Bellefonte Hospital.
She is survived by her children, Peter G. Stavros II, Kate Stavros (James) Tyree; three granddaughters, Ali Stavros, Sarah Tyree, Anya Tyree; her siblings, Phyllis (Carrol) Abel, Margaret (Howard) Mattingly, Jan (B.J.) Brady, Tommy (Betty) Warren and Johnny (Lois) Warren; and a brother-in-law, Jim (Suzanne) Stavros; and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Friday, June 30, 2017, at Steen Funeral Home Central Avenue Chapel in Ashland with The Rev. C. Mark Elliott officiating. Burial will be in Ashland Cemetery.
Visitation will be from noon to 1 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
