Jackie Lee Kitchen, 79, was born July 3, 1938 in Huntington, the son of the late Beulah Vesta Kitchen Booth and the late Martin Van Buren Kitchen. Jack was educated in Huntington area schools. A graduate of Apostolic Bible Institute in St. Paul Minnesota, he spent a portion of his life in ministry as a pastor and evangelist. He was a talented musician, singer, and song writer. Jack was also an accomplished pilot, and served as Chaplain in the Civil Air Patrol. In his later years, he attended Apostolic Life Cathedral where he served ministering to the sick and elderly. He was preceded in death by his wife and mother of his children, Elva Mae Kitchen-Jones and his wife Evelyn Staley Kitchen, two sisters, Dorothea Mills and Deborah Jordon, stepmother Elsie Clay Kitchen and stepfather Robert M. Booth. He rested this life on Thursday, July 6, 2017 at the Emogene Dolin Jones Hospice House in Huntington. He is held in loving memory by one daughter, Sherry Salyers of Huntington and one son, Jerry (Julie) Kitchen of Huntington and one Grandaughter, Alyssa (Trevan) Hannahs. He is also held in loving memory by two sisters, Lova (Bruce) Wright of Huntington and Barbara (Jerry) Martin of Davidson, NC, and one brother, Melvin (Barbara) Kitchen of Dallas, TX. One stepdaughter, Joyce Perdue of Huntington. Two step-granddaughters, Alissa Perdue and Brandie Smith and two step-grandsons, Chaise Grimm and Scott Perdue, five great grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, church family, and friends. Memorial gifts may be sent in lieu of flowers to Hospice House of Huntington or Apostolic Life Cathedral. Friends and extended family may visit Monday, July 10, from 6-7 pm at Apostolic Life Cathedral, 350 Staunton Street, Huntington, WV. The memorial service will begin at 7 pm--Bishop Edwin S.
