James Keneral Leslie Click for Condolences      Printable Version 1928 - 2017 James Keneral Leslie, 88, of Chesapeake, Ohio passed away Monday, July 10, 2017 at Wyngate at River’s Edge, Proctorville, Ohio. James was a pharmacist who owned and operated Cunningham Drug Store at 1401 Adams Avenue in Huntington for 50 years. He retired after working at Kroger Pharmacy in Proctorville, Ohio for 6 years. James was preceded in death by his parents John Preston Leslie and Kathryn Leibee Leslie; infant brother John Leslie, and a brother Marvin Leslie; sisters Hildred Hall, Kathryn Lee and Ruth Hall; and nephew Randall Hall. James was never married and is survived by his nephews William Hall, Edward Lee and Paul Hall; nieces Charmayne Hall, Ruth Ann Fenker and Karen Hicks. He was a graduate of Marshall University and Cincinnati College of Pharmacy. He was a member of Central United Methodist Church in Huntington, WV. Funeral service will be conducted 1 p.m. Thursday, July 13, 2017 at Hall Funeral Home and Crematory, Proctorville, Ohio by Rev. Michael Rexroad. Burial will follow in Spring Hill Cemetery, Huntington, WV. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. I will always have fond memories of the handsome young pharmacist behind the counter at Cunningham drug store on 14th St. As he grew older and more frail, I could always see, in my mind's eye, the handsome young pharmacist who worked behind the counter so very long ago. 'God saw him getting tired and a cure was not to be. He put his arms around him & whispered, "Come to Me." We'll miss you, Uncle James.
